FAQ

Frequently asked questions about VenA

Short answers for users, neighbours, organisations and search engines: what VenA does and does not do, how it handles data and how local contacts are reviewed.

What is VenA?

VenA, Vecinos en Alerta, is a native Android app for requesting neighbourhood help and reporting local situations such as theft, fire, accidents or medical emergencies.

Does VenA replace 911, the police, firefighters or ambulance services?

No. In immediate danger, call the available official service first. VenA only complements that communication by notifying nearby people.

Who is VenA for?

For neighbourhoods, families, communities, municipalities, local organisations, neighbourhood safety networks and support groups that need quick, organised information.

How do weather alerts and news work?

They are optional. VenA filters alerts by department and news by country, department and category when sources are available in the local language. They do not replace an official alert or source.

Are there ads during an emergency?

No. Advertising is disabled by default. If enabled in the future, it will remain outside help requests, helper responses, countdowns, alert maps, PINs, registration and authentication.

What data can VenA use?

Depending on the flow used: name, phone number, city, address or location, notifications, an optional photo and support messages. The privacy page summarises the intended processing.

Where can VenA be installed safely?

The official VenA listing on Google Play is the intended recommended source for installing the app. This website publishes official guides and links.

How do I submit an official phone number?

Use the submission form with the organisation, city, phone number, source and responsible contact. The information remains pending until editorial review.

Invitations

Can I share a referral link?

Yes. The VenA link may include a random 16-character hexadecimal code. If the invitation contains exactly one valid code, this page passes it to Google Play as an Install Referrer with the fixed source utm_source=member_referral and ignores other parameters.

The code contains no name, phone number or location, but may pseudonymously associate a registration with the inviting member. Opening Google Play does not grant access: testing remains internal and limited to authorised accounts. See how invitations work or read the privacy policy.
