VenA features for organised neighbourhood support

VenA combines alerts, local context and safety controls to complement official services. Availability depends on the internal version; this page does not demonstrate real-time delivery of an SOS alert.

Overview

What does VenA help with?

VenA reduces the time needed to notify nearby people, organises emergency information, separates verified from pending data and protects against accidental taps or repeated abuse.

Main features

Alerts by incident type

Theft, fire, medical emergencies, accidents, assaults, flooding or suspicious situations are communicated with clear context.

Responsible location use

Location helps calculate proximity and routes. The app distinguishes between the registered address and the current position.

Nearby neighbours

People within the relevant area can receive the alert and confirm whether they can help without putting themselves at risk.

Android widget

Quick access lets you start an alert from the home screen when supported by the phone.

Review before notifying others

Before notifying others, review and confirm. The options and available time depend on the installed version.

Closing options

Check the closing options available in the installed version.

Additional features: weather

Weather notices are optional and depend on an available official source.

Additional features: news

Safety news provides context; it is not an official alert and does not replace official sources.

Optional photo and phone number

A person can add a photo or share a phone number when it provides useful context.

Official contacts

Firefighters, police, hospitals, municipalities and organisations can submit phone numbers for editorial review.

Not a replacement for official services

VenA complements calls to firefighters, police, ambulance services and authorities. In real danger, those calls take priority.
