What to do
- A forgotten item is not automatically a bomb. For visible danger signs or a threat, do not touch it: move away and alert others.
- Warn nearby people without approaching the item.
- Move at least 100 metres from a small item, 200 metres from a car or large item, and 400 metres from a truck. These distances do not guarantee safety. Do not approach to measure them. Follow police instructions.
- Use solid cover out of sight of the item, away from glass and vehicles.
- From that distance and out of sight, alert police.
- No phone or radio near the item. Another suspicious item: do not investigate. Move away and report from distance and out of sight.
- Unable to move away: alert staff for assisted evacuation. Do not pass beside the item or send anyone to touch it.
What to avoid
- Do not touch or open it. Return only after police clearance.
