Theft

What to do

  1. Do not confront the thief. Help the person get safe.
  2. Violence or current danger: urgent help. If over and no one is in danger, help report the theft.
  3. Write what you saw without approaching the offender. Tell police.
  4. Once you are safe, ask someone you trust to stay with you, away from the attacker. Tell them where you are and whether you can move or speak. If danger returns, go to another safe place and report it. Do not wait to collect evidence.

What to avoid

  1. Do not chase, confront or try to take the weapon.
  2. Do not give PINs or passwords to anyone contacting you claiming they can recover your property.
