Cooking oil or kitchen fire

What to do

  1. Warn others. Leave, close the door if safe and call from outside.
  2. Turn heat off only without approaching flames or delaying escape.
  3. Child/person needing assistance: accompany only along safe exit, no re-entry. Unable to escape: give exact location/mobility to rescue. No improvised rope/unsafe stair carrying.
  4. Oil/pan: never water or moving pan. Burning oven/microwave: do not open to inspect/fight. Leave/report. Gas smell: no switches. Use gas guide.

  1. No water, no moving the pan, no firefighting attempt.
