What to do
- Keep at least 11 metres from the wire and anything it touches. Farther if instructed.
- Wire on car: stay inside and call. Warn others to keep away.
- Only for immediate danger to life, such as fire: jump clear without touching car and ground together. Land feet together.
- Shuffle away with tiny steps, feet together. Do not run. At least 11 metres.
- Unable to jump independently or carrying a baby: tell the dispatcher now. Report any fire. Do not ask someone outside to touch the car to pull you out.
What to avoid
- Do not touch or move wires. No pole rescue.
