Electric shock

What to do

  1. Once separated from power, get medical help.
  2. Do not touch the appliance or cable again.
  3. After safely separated, medical assessment even for small skin mark. Chest pain, palpitations, confusion, seizure or breathing trouble: emergency help. Tell team child/pregnancy/fall/burn.
  4. Power safely off: rest, company and warmth of unburned areas. Burn: open burn guide. Fall/neck injury: no walking. Unresponsive with abnormal breathing: age CPR. Do not attempt equipment repair.

What to avoid

  1. Do not use sticks, water or ropes to separate someone without training.
