What to do

  1. Leave if possible. With no exit during the explosion, shelter under a sturdy table if within reach.
  2. Trapped: move little. Cloth over nose/mouth. Signal by tapping pipe/wall or with a whistle.
  3. Child/person needing assistance: accompany only along safe exit, no re-entry. Unable to escape: give exact location/mobility to rescue. No improvised rope/unsafe stair carrying.
  4. After explosion: breathlessness, chest pain, confusion, bleeding or burn: medical emergency. Report exposure even without visible wound. Without new danger, do not move injured person except lifesaving care.

What to avoid

  1. Do not re-enter. Under debris, shout only as a last resort to limit dust inhalation.
