Heat exhaustion

What to do

  1. Confusion, seizure, collapse or breathlessness: emergency help now. Unable to cool or needing advice: seek help without waiting 30 minutes.
  2. Go somewhere cool and cool your skin. Drink water if able to swallow.
  3. Get help if worse or not better in 30 minutes.
  4. If needing urgent care, do not drive. Ask someone to stay and help.
  5. Baby: do not copy adult water/volumes. Request medical feeding/fluid advice. Prescribed fluid restriction: follow their plan and seek advice. Cool skin now. Do not force drinking.

What to avoid
