Seizure

What to do

  1. If you feel your usual warning, lie on your side away from stairs/hard objects and ask someone to stay.
  2. Afterward, if awake, rest with someone nearby. Show your medical plan. Get help for first event, injury or unusual recovery.
  3. Seizure in baby under6months: emergency help now. Not returning to usual state after episode: get help. Do not wait if breathing is abnormal or hard to wake.

What to avoid

  1. Do not restrain movements or put anything in the mouth. Do not attempt mouth-to-mouth during jerking.
  2. No food or drink until fully recovered and swallowing safely.
