Landslide

What to do

  1. Leave the flow path for higher ground away from its path.
  2. If rocks approach, seek nearby shelter. Cover under sturdy furniture if possible.
  3. If injured or trapped, call. Say where you are and what prevents escape. Do not cross water or wires for help.
  4. Report damaged wires or pipes to authorities. Do not touch or enter to repair them.
  5. If unable to escape, call and describe your location and the blockage. Do not cross moving mud.
  6. Unable to escape: request rescue with position/blockage. No moving mud crossing or return for belongings. Helper: do not enter. Locate from safety and report.
  7. Safe access only: attend breathing and severe bleeding first. No digging/lifting unstable debris. No signal: ask another to call from safety, without entering to find you.

  1. Do not enter the slide area. Another slide or flooding may follow.
