Instructions for helping yourself

I need help, not sure what to choose

What to do

  1. Ask for help and give your location and what is happening. If unable to call, ask someone to call for you.
  2. You can say: “I do not know what happened. I am at… and I feel…”. You need not know the diagnosis.
  3. Wait somewhere safe and ask someone to stay with you if possible.
  4. No phone or connection: ask someone nearby to call from safety. Give location and what is happening. Do not wait for an automatic app alert.
  5. Say if unable to leave, walk or communicate well. Ask a trusted person to help call. Do not force painful movement.

What to avoid

  1. Do not improvise medication for an unknown cause.
  2. Do not delay asking for help while searching for the exact category.
